Can’t commit to a weekly schedule? Public events are great opportunities for both groups (including families) and individuals to have fun while contributing to Butterfly Pavilion’s mission!
At these events volunteers:
- Play games, create crafts, and lead activities for guests of all ages
- Greet and direct guests
- Provide light exhibit support
- Help set up, break down, and make sure the event is running smoothly
Some of our large public events throughout the year include:
Mid May (National Plant Conservation Day)- Includes event games and activities, as well as Nature Trail restoration project
Mid July (Butterfly Pavilion’s Birthday Party)
Two-day event in mid October (Butterfly Pavilion’s Fall Celebration)- Volunteers greet guests and man craft and game stations, among other special tasks relevant to the theme of the day (i.e. giving out candy to trick-or-treaters)
Single evenings in March, May, and August- Guests have the opportunity for an adults night out, exploring out exhibits while sampling fare from local food and beverage vendors (Adults age 21+ only)
Shift times and activities vary based on each event. For details on any event, please reach out to our Volunteer Program Manager, Julie Ann Barowski, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
*Please note that an application and interview must be completed, and that we seek to find the right fit both for our volunteers and for Butterfly Pavilion; unfortunately not all volunteer applicants will be selected to join the team. Once selected, orientation a criminal background check will be required for all new volunteers.
