Tuesday June 6 | 10am-12pm or 2-4pm | Bug Hunt
Right now thousands of insects are doing strange and wonderful things! We’re calling all young scientists to grab a net, jar and a magnifying glass and discover the secret lives of insects in Butterfly Pavilion’s backyard!
Wednesday June 7 | 10am-12pm or 2-4pm | Amazing Arachnids
Psyched about spiders, or still a little skeptical? Either way – this class will explore the amazing world of arachnids. We’ll experience the thrill of holding tarantulas, see how hard it is to balance on a web, and get to know some of our world’s most misunderstood creatures.
Thursday June 8 | 10am-12pm or 2-4pm | Buzzin’ Bees
This class will leave your camper buzzing for days! Join us as we learn all about bees and pollination, taste delicious honey, and see what it takes to be a beekeeper. Bee there or bee square!
Friday June 9 | 10am-12pm or 2-4pm | Open Space Odyssey
Join us as we head to the great outdoors for a camp full of exploration, discovery and fun! Experience all that nature has to offer as we look under rocks and up in the trees for all the great plants and animals that call Colorado home!
Tuesday June 13 | 10am-12pm or 2-4pm | Ocean Adventure
Crawdads, crabs and lobsters – oh my! Butterfly Pavilion is going underwater to meet some colorful characters. We’ll go under the sea in our Water’s Edge exhibit, meet an aquarist, and make a splash in this ocean adventure!
Wednesday June 14 | 10am-12pm or 2-4pm | Butterfly Bonanza
Is your camper bananas about butterflies? We’ll explore wings, flight, pollination and all kinds of butterfly behaviors in this fun class. Through crafts, games, and time spent in our rainforest, we’ll be fully immersed in the magic of these beautiful creatures.
Thursday June 15 | 10am-12pm or 2-4pm | Wiggling Worms
What’s that moving underneath the dirt? Find out the secret life of our wiggly decomposer friends as we get a little dirty and learn about the amazing world that happens underground.
Friday June 16 | 10am-12pm or 2-4pm | Beetle Bash
Meet the Beetles! Beetles are the bomb – and they make up one out of every four animals in our world! Join us as we discover a beetle’s life cycle, play beetle games and meet some real live bugs!
Week-long Camps – Ages 5-10
- Half day (morning only) 9am-12pm – $130 (member rate: $117)
- Full day 9am-4pm – $250 (member rate: $225)
- Early drop off (8am-9am) and late pick up (4pm-5pm) options available for $5 extra per child/day
- Butterfly Pavilion members receive a 10% discount on all camps and classes!
- Pre-registration for all camps is required, as our capacity is 30 campers.
June 19-23 | Junior Beekeeper
Find out what all the buzz is about in this hands-on camp! Campers will spend the week in a fun and educational immersion into the fascinating world of bees. We will learn about honey bee biology and bees vital role in our world. We will work with an expert beekeeper, learn how honey is made and get to look inside of a real hive!
June 26-30 | Summer Survival
Set your kids’ imagination and adventurous spirits free as they learn about the natural environment and the important skills of survival: shelter, water, fire, and food. We’ll see if we have what it takes to beat the heat and survive in this fun and challenging outdoor camp!

July 10-14 | Life in a …. (In a log! In a shell! In a hive! In a mound! In a tree!)
What is life like… in a log? Under a rock? In a tree? In a shell? In a web? Join us as we explore all the different habitats of some of Butterfly Pavilion’s favorite and animals and see what it takes to live in some of these extreme locations.
July 17-21 | Junior Zookeeper
Are your kids always bringing home bugs? Do they love taking care of animals? This camp is for them! We are going behind the scenes of Butterfly Pavilion to see what it takes to be a Zookeeper. We’ll even get to care for our very own animals!
July 24-28 | Aquatic Adventure
Rivers, streams, lakes, ponds – all teeming with life! Discover aquatic invertebrates like stoneflies and crawdads, find out what makes a healthy waterway, and learn what it would take to catch a fish during this wet and wild week.
July 31-August 4 | Birds and Bugs in Your Own Backyard (with Bird Conservancy of the Rockies)
Come one, come all, and experience the wonders of the animal kingdom—from the tiniest worms under the ground to soaring hawks in the sky. Discover the magic of flight with the Bird Conservancy of the Rockies as we study flight and how both birds and butterflies alike can accomplish this fantastic feat!
August 7-11 | Best of Butterfly Pavilion!
Have a favorite camp? Did one of the camps that you wanted to take sell out too quickly? Never fear! We will compile all of our favorite themes and activities and spend our last full week of summer camp opening up a second session of whichever camp fills up first!

Butterfly Pavilion camps are designed to provide kids with memorable experiences that connect them to nature and encourage an appreciation for science. Led by a dynamic education team, our camps incorporate exploration, inquiry, art, drama, and play into programs that appeal to a variety of interests and abilities. Camps are offered during the summer from June to August, as well as on Out of School Days during the school year for youth ages 5-10. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
We also offer mini-camps for youth ages 4-6.
