Each year, we work with volunteer groups from high schools, colleges, corporations, service organizations, churches, and more to assist with group service projects. We love to connect with new groups in our community!
Groups Volunteering Opportunities:
We have opportunities for groups of all ages and sizes throughout the year, from handing out candy to guests at our Bug-a-Boo Halloween event (great for families!), to counting inventory in our Gift Shop. Most groups help out our Horticulture team with outdoor projects either at Butterfly Pavilion or out at off-site locations.
- Fill out a Group Volunteer Application (link below) to let us know about your group, including your availability and interests.
- Group projects must be set up at least one month prior to the date your group would like to volunteer.
- Projects vary depending on the time of the year- a sample opportunity is described below.
Sample Group Volunteer Opportunity:
Restoration of Big Dry Creek Open Space Help Butterfly Pavilion staff and volunteers restore our outdoor nature trail, while learning about this tough and beautiful ecosystem. The Big Dry Creek open space is a short-grass prairie/riparian habitat for many birds, butterflies and other wildlife. Volunteers should expect to dig weeds and clear paths in a natural setting. Tools and gloves will be provided. Volunteers of all ages are welcome; please wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothes and shoes and bring sunscreen, bug repellent, water bottle, and a hat. Time: 8:00 am – 11:00 am. Group size: Up to 30 individuals.
If your group is interested in helping out, please follow the Group Volunteer Application link above to submit your information, and we will contact the group lead to follow up. If you have any questions, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 720-974-1868.
