Here at Butterfly Pavilion, we know that engaging families is vital to creating passion and inspiring nature conservation.
Nature Nerds Family Club helps families get nature back on their calendars with a fun, hands-on adventure each month at Butterfly Pavilion!
Interested in composting? Crawdad catching? Ever wanted to taste a bug? We’ve got the adventure for you! Workshops take place one weekend day per month from 10:30 am -12 pm.
Members: $6 Adults, $4 Children (2 – 12)
Non-members: $14 Adults, $6 Children (2 – 12).
Includes admission to Butterfly Pavilion
Saturday July 21: Bug Appetit! Family Picnic – 10:30am-12pm
We will learn all about eating bugs, why it’s cool and important for Colorado, get to try some real insect snacks, and finish with fun family games and an outdoor picnic (hot dogs provided — bugs optional!)
Saturday August 25: Native Colorado Butterflies – at Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield Farms – 10:30am-12pm
Butterfly Pavilion’s seasonal habitat at Chatfield is home to hundreds of native butterflies such as swallowtails, monarchs, mourning cloaks and painted ladies! Explore native plants and butterflies with an exclusive tour, experience a nature trek on the farm, and take home your own plantable milkweed seeds!
*Transportation not included. All participants will meet at Chatfield Farm: 8500 W Deer Creek Canyon Road, Littleton, CO 80128*
- Pre-registration and pre-payment required. Nature Nerds Family Club workshops are best suited for families with children ages 4-10.
- 30 person maximum per program.

- Programs are not eligible for senior discounts. Children under 2 years old are free of admission, but content is not well suited for this age range.
