
Our 2,000 square foot ballroom has hardwood floors and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking our patio, Discovery Garden and Jefferson County Open Space. The ballroom can accommodate 150-200 seated guests, with additional space on the patio for 200 guests. The ballroom is equipped with wireless Internet, a podium, two white boards and two pull down screens. We have a sound system including 1 handheld wireless microphone to use for presentations or wedding toasts, and the system has the capability to connect your MP3 Player to pipe music throughout the ballroom and patio. The residential-sized warming kitchen provides a great spot for preparing box lunches, buffets or a served meal. Events held during business hours receive free admission for all guests; after-hours events receive one free hour of private rainforest viewing.

We also provide fun and interactive workshops presented by our knowledgeable educators for groups of all sizes. These private sessions serve as excellent team building activities, a unique addition to holiday parties, fun happenings at a bridal shower, and much more! Take your pick of workshops for an additional $85.00. Each workshop is led by one of our skilled presenters and lasts for approximately 45 minutes.
Enjoy an interactive presentation about insects, spiders, and their relatives. Observe and interact with living and preserved specimens, like our famous tarantula, Rosie!
Enjoy a colorful butterfly slide show and learn all about our tropical butterflies. Discover how we receive our butterflies, learn more about their lifecycle, and observe some of the behaviors you will see in our Wings of the Tropics exhibit.
Enjoy an engaging slide presentation all about the busy life of honey bees. Discover how and why bees make honey, and engage your senses by tasting honey, feeling beeswax, and seeing a honeycomb!
Discover the fascinating world of pollinators in your garden, including butterflies, bees, and beetles. Learn all about pollination, plus the fun and fascinating plant advertising strategies.

For a truly magical experience, consider renting the entire facility for your next event. This special opportunity allows your guests to exclusively enjoy every square inch of the facility without the public present. Guests can mingle through fully-staffed interactive and educational exhibits. A full facility rental includes access to four exhibit areas including our 7,000 square foot rainforest conservatory with 1,600 free-flying butterflies, 3 classrooms, ballroom and patio (for an additional charge, the gift shop can also be available.). Integrate your theme throughout the museum and then enjoy dancing and dinner in the ballroom. A full facility provides family fun, kids-only space and adult-friendly entertainment space. The cost is $3500.00 for 8 hours. Each additional hour is $350.

All events must be scheduled with our Events Department. For a date to be reserved, a signed rental contract, 50% of the rental fee and the full damage deposit must be submitted.
