Boogie on down to the Butterfly Pavilion to sing and dance with Radio Disney at the Butterfly Pavilion's annual BugaRhythm party. BugaRhythm is sure to put that swing in your hips and the tap in your toes as classic Disney tunes fill the invertebrate zoo. Be amazed as you learn how butterflies dance, why crickets sing, and how to imitate hissing cockroaches, all the while, learning new dance moves instructed by our very own sea stars and horseshoe crabs. Don’t miss this extraordinary day filled with music, dance, and bug education! The Disney Road Show will include dancing, music, interactive games, and Disney prizes! Dance to the music from a Bug's Life and other Disney classics. The event is included in the price of admission.

Activity descriptions:

 

Mimic insect sounds in the Crawl-A-See-Em  - The Sounds of Insects booth will allow you to simulate real insect sounds by using everyday objects as ‘buggy instruments.’ Take away “how to” sheets with information on how to make your own bug instruments at home.

 

Move like an invertebrate in Water's Edge – “The Move like an Invertebrate” area is a self-guided movement activity with posters of invertebrate animals and demonstrations of how to try moving like one. Dance and move like invertebrate and then touch sea star and horseshoe crab at the touch tanks.

 

Butterfly Behavior Bingo in the Wings of the Tropics (conservatory) – Grab your clipboard with game piece and look for different movements and behaviors of butterflies in the conservatory. Keep your eyes open and see if you can get a “bingo.” When finished, make sure to leave your bingo sheet in the bin outside the conservatory exit.

 

Build a Butterfly Zip line Craft in Tropical Odyssey – Butterflies have great moves and now you can have your own mobile butterfly. Learn about the intricacies of butterfly movements. All supplies are provided, and staff will be on hand to assist you with the construction of this take home craft.

 

Busy Bees – What’s the Buzz – Enjoy an interactive story about how honeybees communicate through dance and movement in classroom A. Dress up like bees and learn the bees’ special moves.

 

Name that Bug Tune Jeopardy – Learn exciting facts about the sound and movement of insects while playing the exciting game of Jeopardy. Located in classroom E.

 

“Finding Nemo” (movie and free popcorn) – Don’t miss a free showing of “Finding Nemo” while enjoying some free popcorn in classroom A.

 

Butterfly Encounter - Discover more about our butterflies, our rainforest, and the Butterfly Pavilion at a Butterfly Encounter! Discover our newest butterflies, and get an engaging look at our Wings of the Tropics exhibit. Come for the learning, stay for the butterflies!

Radio Disney “Buggy Boogie” Road show – The Disney road show will include dancing, music, interactive games, and Disney prizes, and will feature songs and music from “A Bug’s Life” and other Disney classics. Games will include the centipede limbo, pass the potato bug, beetle shuffle and more. Located in the ballroom C/D.
