The Butterfly Pavilion serves over 35,000 students each year through outreach and onsite education programs.
All of our field trip classes meet Colorado State Model Content Educational Standards.

Camps

The Butterfly Pavilion offers fun and educational camps with a focus on invertebrate animals such as insects and spiders. Come experience the joys of nature with us this summer! All camps include live animal encounters, outdoor explorations, games, and crafts. Camps are offered during the summer from June to August. We offer 1 ½ hour camps, half day camps, and full day camp experiences for ages 4-9. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.

Family Workshops

Family workshops are in-depth, hands-on classes for an adult and child pair. These are great opportunities to learn more about our extraordinary invertebrate animals, from wiggly worms to crawling caterpillars! Pre-registration and payment are required for all family workshops.

Spineless Spotlights

Spineless Spotlights are free educational programs offered during the course of the day at the Butterfly Pavilion. These are entertaining opportunities for our visitors to learn even more about our amazing invertebrates! Our programs are interactive and appropriate for all ages. All have an audience participation component; several feature live animals.

Sunset Strolls

Visitors are invited to experience an enchanting evening butterfly program in our tropical conservatory. Participants enjoy a guided walk through the conservatory at dusk and have the opportunity to observe butterflies and activities not normally seen during regular operating hours. Sunset Strolls are offered monthly. Pre-registration is required. The Butterfly Pavilion also offers Group Sunset Strolls if you'd like to have a program exclusively for your group! Call 720-974-1870 or email estuckeyweber@butterflies.org to sign up.

If it creeps, crawls, slithers, flies, wiggles or squirms, chances are you'll find it here. Come for the butterflies, then stay for the spiders, scorpions, millipedes, centipedes, horseshoe crabs, sea stars, and walking sticks. Love to learn? We also offer youth education programming, volunteer opportunities and lifelong learning. Only 15 minutes from downtown Denver. Butterflies are just the beginning.
