Enjoy a fun-filled day at the Butterfly Pavilion with our partner, Angling University! Experience an exciting morning learning about insects and meeting some of the Butterfly Pavilion's invertebrate friends. Then practice your fly casting and head over to Westminster Pond for a fun afternoon of fishing. Bring a lunch. Gear provided by Angling University.

Butterflies Bees and Beetles (New camp offering with Young Ambassadors!)

How do our smallest creatures affect our food, fields and forests? Take part in this three day adventure, starting with an enriching and fun-filled day at the Butterfly Pavilion. Days two and three will include field trips to the Denver Botanic Gardens, Berry Patch Farms and Betasso Preserve. Tuition includes all entrance fees, transportation, programming and daily snacks.

Spiders Bugs and Butterflies I
M - F, July 30 - August 3, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., ages 6-8, $130

Explore the wonders of the invertebrate world at the Butterfly Pavilion. Engage in a variety of field explorations, crafts, and games while you learn about insects, spiders and their buggy relatives. Compete against bugs in our Invertebrate Olympics, discover insect myths and legends from around the world, and learn how to navigate through a spider’s web!

Spiders, Bugs, and Butterflies II *
M - F, July 30 - August 3, 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., ages 6-8, $130

If there were no spiders, would insects rule the world? How much weight can a cockroach really carry? Spend time in the Butterfly Pavilion’s animal rearing room, learn how to raise insects and become an expert in field observation. Earn your own “Bug Badge” exploring behind the scenes at the Butterfly Pavilion and dig deep to discover how the odd and crazy world of bugs and their relatives really works!  Note: You do not have to take Spiders, Bugs, and Butterflies I to enroll in this class, but it is highly encouraged.

Come one, come all, and experience the wonders of the bug kingdom through outdoor explorations, games, crafts, and live animal interactions! Learn all about the incredible abilities of the world’s smallest wonders: insects, spiders, butterflies, bees, and scorpions.

From the mountains to the plains, birds are everywhere! Join RMBO educators to learn more about these amazing creatures through outdoor explorations, hikes, scavenger hunts, crafts, and nature journaling! Campers will study bird behavior, adaptations, and habitats in this summer camp.

Right now, all around you, thousands of insects are doing strange and wonderful things! It’s time to grab a net, a jar, and a magnifying glass and see what you can discover about the secret lives of insects, spiders, and their buggy relatives. Participants will also have the chance to investigate the Butterfly Pavilion’s outdoor exhibits, and earn an exclusive “Bug Badge.” Dress to be outside.

We will discover new critters each of these four weeks as we delve further into the amazing world of invertebrates!

The Butterfly Pavilion combines science education with interactive fun to teach visitors about invertebrates and conservation. Our five immersive exhibits, including our rainforest filled with 1,600 free-flying tropical butterflies, provide a year-round, unforgettable experience. Visitors can get up close and personal with live animals, enjoy daily educational programs, explore the wonder of the outdoors on the nature trail, and discover the newest traveling exhibit. Butterflies are just the beginning.
