Insect Detectives: Bug Hunt

It's time to grab a net, a jar, and a magnifying glass and see what you can discover about the secret lives of insects, spiders and their buggy relatives. Campers will also have the chance to investigate the Butterfly Pavilion's outdoor exhibits, and earn an exclusive "Bug Badge." Dress to be outside.

Our very popular behind the scenes opportunity is back in 2011! Discover Butterfly Pavilion secrets and help zookeepers care for our animals in this exciting camp. You’ll also get the chance to hold Rosie the tarantula, visit her home, meet her coworkers, and see what she eats when she’s not walking around on our visitors’ hands. All classes take place at the Butterfly Pavilion

Are you buggy about ladybugs, gaga over grasshoppers, or do you just have butterflies in your stomach? Insect enthusiasts and curious campers will all love their experiences at the Butterfly Pavilion as they get the chance to handle live animals, perform science experiments, create crafts, hike nature trails, and play games. We will discover a new critter each of these four weeks as we delve further into the amazing world of invertebrates! All classes take place at the Butterfly Pavilion.
