Forget about the cold weather outside! Focus on our animals from the rainforests (and warm places) of the world. Examine rainforest butterflies, tropical stick insects and more! Explore the Butterfly Pavilion’s exhibits and bask in the warmth of our tropical rainforest.

People do more with bugs than just squish them! Our creepy crawly friends inspire stories, movies, songs, art and food dishes around the world. If you have ever wondered what a cricket tastes like, or how jewelry can be made out of a butterfly wing, then this is the class for you.

Participants will attend class at the Butterfly Pavilion (no transportation to or from class provided) and all classes will be led both indoors (exhibits and classroom) and outdoors in the Big Dry Creek Open Space area adjacent to the Butterfly Pavilion.
Total registration fee for participant: $40 per class
Up to 15 participants per time slot
Class minimum is 5 students
The Butterfly Pavilion offers fun and educational summer camps and classes with a focus on invertebrate animals such as insects and spiders. Come experience the joys of nature with us all summer! All programs include live animal encounters, outdoor explorations, games, and crafts.
