Can't make it to the Butterfly Pavilion? The Pavilion will happily come to your location with a themed program perfect for seniors! Every program includes a colorful slide show, live and/or mounted animals, fun biology facts, and a question & answer time.
Beautiful Butterflies — Butterflies are not quite as carefree as we think. Learn about the fascinating behavior and complex lifecycles of our beautiful tropical butterflies.
Butterfly Gardening — Learn about our local butterflies and discover the step-by-step process for creating your own butterfly garden!
Bringing the Pavilion to You — Get ready: we're bringing you our live invertebrates and a fascinating slide show full of fun animal facts! Learn all about our residents — including insects, spiders and their diverse relatives — as you ‘take a walk’ through the Pavilion.
Busy Bees — Enjoy an engaging slide presentation all about the busy life of honey bees. Discover how and why bees make honey, and engage your senses by tasting honey, feeling beeswax and seeing a honeycomb!
Survivors — Through a colorful slide show, experience how insects adapt & survive in their environment through camouflage, warning colors & mimicry. Meet insects from around the world face-to-face!
Insect Lore — Learn fascinating facts and enjoy stories from cultures around the world about butterflies, beetles, dragonflies and spiders! Have a story of your own? We'd love to hear it!
Spiders — Perfect for your Halloween activities! Learn about these misunderstood creatures and meet a black widow and our very own Rosie the tarantula up close!
Pollination Nation —
New! Discover the fascinating world of pollinators in your garden, including butterflies, bees, and beetles. Learn all about pollination and fun and fascinating plant advertising strategies.
Fees: $65 program fee plus $15 travel fee. For locations over 80 miles round trip, an additional mileage charge of $0.485/mile will apply.
