Adult On-Site Group Visits and Programs

Group Visit (Self-Guided)

The Butterfly Pavilion isn't just for kids! From our famous conservatory to our outdoor garden trails, we offer experiences suitable for visitors of all ages. Discover a world of insects, spiders, butterflies, and other fascinating invertebrates through three permanent exhibits:

- In the Crawl-A-See-Em, meet some of the world's strangest and occasionally creepiest crawling critters. If you've ever wanted to hold a spider (or never thought you might), be sure to pay our beloved Rosie the Tarantula a visit!

- On the ground, in the air, and...underwater? Arthropods are everywhere! Check out the Water's Edge to learn more about some of the sea-dwelling cousins of spiders and butterflies. Observe our resident slipper lobster, touch a sea star and a horshoe crab, and feel the difference in temperature between the world's two greatest oceans!

- Our Wings of the Tropics conservatory doesn't just teach you about butterflies and their habitat, it puts you right in the middle of a tropical rainforest where butterflies fly freely! Stroll around this lush, living rainforest and try your hand at identifying the nearly 1,600 butterflies.

- Experience Tropical Odyssey to learn about butterfly conservation worldwide, sustainable rainforest products, and how your Butterfly Pavilion visit makes a difference.

There's more! During the summer months, take a stroll through our interpretive Nature Trail, view our outdoor butterfly gardens, and discover amazing Colorado wildlife and the habitats in which they live. Best of all, each display in our indoor and outdoor exhibits includes age-layered information so that visitors from 6 to 60+ years old can learn and have fun. Also, you may join us for our free daily Spineless Spotlights!
