Bug Bites
Welcome to the Bug Bites Café! Discover bug cuisine from cultures around the world and find bugs in our everyday food. Meet live animals who have been on the menu and taste a few buggy treats yourself!
*4th-8th grade, $100/1 hour program, (maximum 30 students)
No Bones About It
Our presenter brings live arthropods into your classroom and facilitates student learning about animal adaptations through self-discovery, inquiry and hands-on exploration.
*5th-8th grade, $100/45 minute program (maximum 30 students)
Live Bugs!
Get up close and personal with live insects, spiders and other arthropods from around the world.
*Summer Bug Safari—June-August, all ages, $125/1 hour program, (maximum 60 students)
*CU Bugmobile—Sept-May, Call Science from CU to register at 303-492-8640
Don't Bug Me
Who bugs a ladybug? Does it bug anything? Explore the dynamic interactions within Colorado's habitats and the importance of biodiversity through an exciting group game! Live invertebrates allow for hands-on engagement at the program's conclusion.
*3rd- 5th Grade, $100/1 hour program, (maximum 30 students)
Travel Fee
$15 per visit to locations less than 40 miles (one way) from the Butterfly Pavilion.
Additional roundtrip mileage (above 80 miles) is charged at $.485 / mile.
Insect Loan Boxes
These boxes are a perfect complement to your classroom insect and butterfly unit. Loan boxes contain a variety of invertebrate animal mounts, fun teaching aids and developed curriculum to help you teach insect basics. Call 720.974.1862 for information.
