Events and Outreach
Bloomapalooza
Bloomapalooza is an annual public event at the Butterfly Pavilion that celebrates Plant Conservation Day, a national effort by zoos and botanical gardens to emphasize the importance of plants and habitat. Bloomapalooza includes hands-on gardening opportunities, interactive demonstrations, live music, entertaining family activities and volunteer experiences. Visitors learn about the importance of habitat protection on a local and global scale.
Living Lights
Living Lights is an indoor/outdoor 3-D holiday light event that provides a fun opportunity for more than 5,000 visitors to learn about and gain a passion for invertebrates and their habitats by providing educational learning opportunities through exhibit enhancements, live animals and realistic and artistic lighting displays outdoors. Holiday lights are simply more festive when they fly, flutter and crawl!
Wings and Strings Gala
The Wings and Strings Gala is the Butterfly Pavilion’s premier fundraising event of the year and culminates a year’s worth of work and recognizes all who have supported the Butterfly Pavilion. The event features a plated gourmet dinner including a local and organic menu, specialty cocktails, silent auction, a mesmerizing string-instrument concert and the Butterfly Pavilion's interactive exhibits, including our rainforest featuring 1,600 free-flying tropical butterflies.
Fairs and Outreach Efforts
The Butterfly Pavilion currently participates in 60 fairs annually, further expanding our reach into the community. We value opportunities to take our mission and message to the public who might not otherwise have the chance to experience the Butterfly Pavilion. In additional to fairs, our outreach program goes into schools, libraries, childcare facilities, senior assisted living centers, partner organizations and community centers.
