Did You Know?

The Butterfly Pavilion is the nation's first stand-alone non-profit insect zoo. In its exhibits visitors see and interact with live invertebrates from around the globe.

Transport to the Crawl-A-See-Em, home of Rosie the tarantula and other small wonders! After a brief closure in 2012, Rosie's home is now better than ever. In addition to Rosie's beautiful new burrow, we've added three distinct habitats with small wonders from across the globe!

Explore and learn about dozens of species of arthropods. Sharpen your observation skills as you discover animals hidden in their native habitat. Experience the unique smells of a tropical rainforest. Find out what our scientists are investigating. Understand how Butterfly Pavilion supports conservation efforts around the globe. And much more!

If you love holding Rosie, working at the Critter Cabana is the perfect place to share this exciting experience with others.

The Butterfly Pavilion combines science education with interactive fun to teach visitors about invertebrates and conservation. Our five immersive exhibits, including our rainforest filled with 1,600 free-flying tropical butterflies, provide a year-round, unforgettable experience. Visitors can get up close and personal with live animals, enjoy daily educational programs, explore the wonder of the outdoors on the nature trail, and discover the newest traveling exhibit. Butterflies are just the beginning.
