Diet: Scavengers: will eat whatever they can find

Facts: 1. The female can carry between 1,000 and 30,000 eggs on her abdomen 2. Uses snail shell for its house. If no snail shell is empty, the hermit crab will kill a snail for it shell 3. Will place sea anemones on their shell for increased camouflage and possible protection from some predators. The anemone does not mind since it gains food, reduced competition from other anemones, and mobile shelter.
