Order: Araneae

Range: It is found naturally in Arizona, Texas, and Mexico.

Diet: Food consists of insects, centipedes, scorpions, and other taratanulas.

Reader Rail Information: One of the most abundant species encountered in the United States. Females are a lovely pale blonde in color while males are darker in color with dark brown to black legs. This timid, burrowing species constructs deep burrows in dry, sparsely vegetated sandy soil in scrubland.
